The project development plan breaks down into the following major phases with some sub-phases:

1. Phase B is aimed at flowing all specification down to modules and achieve a preliminary design maturity. This phase is separated into two:
   •    Phase B1: More concentrated in the flow down of requirement and architecture definition to sub- system level
   •    Phase B2: Preliminary design activities.
2. Phase C is aimed at achieving the final design of the instrument up to component. It ends with the final design reviews to free the Manufacturing drawings definition.
3. Phase D will cover the manufacturing, system AIV/T and instrument AIT/V. This phase will end with the Preliminary Acceptance in Europe.
4. Phase E will cover the activities of packing, shipping and preliminary acceptance in Chile.

The key milestones or reviews of the project are the following:

1. SRR: System Requirement Review - Review of the requirement flow down to system level. Internal instrument review lead by the PO.
2. SAR: System Architecture Review - Review for instrument specification and system and sub-system level preliminary flow down
3. ESO-PDR: Preliminary Design Review - Validation of the instrument preliminary design and have the systems requirements under configuration
4. Funding Review Approval
5. LLI-FDR: Long Lead Item Final Design Review
6. ESO-FDR: Instrument level Final Design Review
7. IRR: Integration Readiness Review - Assess the maturity of the instrument and all integration tools and procedure to be ready to go for integration.
8. TRR: Test Readiness Review – verify that the instrument is fully integration and confirm that the Instrument is ready for the acceptance tests
9. PAE: Preliminary Acceptance Review in Europe - Verify the compliance of the instrument to requirements and technical specifications. The Authorization to shipment to Chile will be granted with the success to this review.
10. PAC: Preliminary Acceptance Review in Chile – Verify the compliance of the instrument technical specifications on sky.
